Kirtland Temple

Tempt us NOT!!! Ha ha...lol

Cool hill.  Simon's Ryder's hill...I think this is the one.  He didn't join the church because he thought the church would make him sell his hill.

Pano of the Kirtland Temple

Graves next to the temple.  Some early members of the church are buried there.

Monument to many but especially Hyrum's first wife, Jerusha and Joseph
& Emma's twins.

I am a big Pratt fan.  Parker was named after Parley Parker Pratt.  Thankful is Parley's wife.

Kirtland Temple owned by the Community of Christ (formerly the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day saints.)

This is the visitor's center.  At the very end they open these big windows to view the Kirtland Temple.  The tour guide was a great orater but I found him too loud when we entered the temple.  He was a very good orator though and gave us many details and facts we didn't know.  An interesting tidbit...our group was big.  One of the guys asked if they could sing.  No one played the piano and so Ryan played for us.  That was pretty neat that he got to play in the Kirtland Temple.
